Kays Medical donates 50 boxes of Type IIR face masks to YMCA Liverpool and Sefton
Today, Kays Medical has donated 50 boxes of our Type IIR medical grade face masks to the YMCA Liverpool and Sefton, to help protect the staff and the vulnerable people they care for during the coronavirus pandemic.
YMCA Liverpool and Sefton have been a customer of ours for some time, and we regularly supply them with the medical and safety equipment they need to run the charity. After the recent changes to government guidelines, which state everyone must now wear a mask in all shops and supermarkets as well as on public transport and in hospitals, and it being strongly encouraged for people to wear face coverings in other enclosed public spaces where social distancing may be difficult, we wanted to help out this local charity, and valued customer of ours. Although we trade nationally, Kays Medical was born and bred in Liverpool, where we continue to operate from today. Therefore, YMCA is a cause close to our hearts, who do so much great work to help vulnerable people throughout our city.
YMCA Liverpool and Sefton is a registered charity that provides services to vulnerable people through accommodation, family work, health and wellbeing, and training and education. Some of the great work they do throughout Liverpool includes offering accommodation to those experiencing homelessness, providing refuge to women and children fleeing domestic abuse, providing early years education in Southport and providing a range of accredited courses and delivering therapeutic horticulture, animal care, and creative activities to help the vulnerable through their Dutch Farm project.
Despite these difficult times, they have continued to do their great work and provide help and support to those who need it most in our city, and Kays Medical wanted to help them in our own small way. The medical-grade face masks we have donated to them will help keep staff and the disadvantaged members of the community they work with safe during the coronavirus pandemic by helping to prevent the possible spread of the virus.
Ben Ludzker, CEO of Kays Medical said, “COVID-19 has presented so many challenges for everyone in the UK, and we are proud to be working with and supporting a number of UK businesses, but we also want to support charities such as the YMCA. Providing them with some of our medical-grade masks will hopefully go some way to helping protect their staff and some of their vulnerable people.”
Kays Medical are occupational health experts and have been protecting UK workforces since 1976, and we want to help in whatever way we can to stop the spread of the coronavirus and keep workforces safe. As lockdown measures continue to be lifted, wearing a face mask will be more important than ever, and the Type IIR medical grade face masks we have donated to the Liverpool YMCA are recommended for those working in community and social care settings.
Ellie McNeil, CEO of the Liverpool YMCA was extremely grateful for the donation and thankful for the support Kays Medical has been providing the charity throughout the crisis and beyond. “Kays Medical is a very important supplier and partner for us, we have a number of wide-ranging requirements to help protect our people so we are fortunate to have the expertise and quality of medical products and services as provided through Kays Medical here on our doorstep in Liverpool. We are extremely grateful for the continued support and generous donation.”
